Welcome to Habren

Memory Walk Alzeimer's SocietyWe are proud to once again be sponsoring the Alzheimer's Society Swansea Memory Walk in association with 96.4 FM The Wave. Starting at 2:30pm, the walk will take place on Sunday 11th September at Swansea's Singleton Park and is aimed at raising money to support people affected by dementia and their carers in the local area.

The Memory Walks are the Alzheimer's Society's flagship fundraising event and since 2002 they have helped to raise over £1,700,000 for people living with dementia. It is hoped that this year's walk will see over 20,000 walkers raise £750,000 to fund local dementia services and research into the condition.

In the UK there are currently 750,000 people living with dementia, a figure that is likely to rise to 1 million by 2025. Dementia is one of many areas of support that we work in and we are currently focusing on care models that offer new ways of caring for people with dementia. Cwm Aur, our £6.5 million integrated care scheme built in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council recently opened in Llanybydder and offers accommodation and innovative services for people with dementia, dramatically improving quality of life and allowing them to continue living with their loved ones: an option not available within current residential or nursing home models in south west Wales.
